The 2024 Swinney Syrah is structured, savoury and tightly framed. This is not a heavy, overripe style. It leans toward restraint, precision and spice-driven complexity.
Aromatically, it sits in the darker fruit spectrum with underlying savoury lift. There’s tension from fine spice and subtle earth rather than overt sweetness. Oak is present but controlled, supporting structure rather than dominating the profile.
On the palate, it is medium to medium-plus in body with firm, fine-grained tannins. Acidity keeps the wine focused and prevents excess weight. The finish is long, dry and savoury, with a peppery edge that carries through.

Every wine is scored out of 100 under the Winetrust Scoring System: Flavour 50 (nose 15, palate 25, finish 10), Structure 25, Balance & Harmony 15, Presentation 10. Totals are computed, never hand-entered.
Two bottles minimum, tasted on separate occasions by a named reviewer, unblind — and disclosed. Gifted samples are declared. Price never touches the score — value is rated separately. Nothing below 87 is listed, and key wines are re-tasted at twelve months with their score history preserved.
