From old bush vines rooted in the ironstone and gravel soils of Frankland River, the 2024 Swinney Grenache is lifted, precise and finely structured. This is not a heavy, confectioned style. It is built on tension, purity and line.

The aromatics open with bright red cherry, wild strawberry and raspberry, layered with blood orange peel, subtle rose petal and a dusting of white spice. There’s a gentle herbal lift — thyme and dried sage — that adds savoury complexity without distracting from the fruit.

On the palate, the wine is medium-bodied and energetic. The fruit sits in the red spectrum rather than dark, supported by fine, powdery tannins that give shape without aggression. Acidity is lively and keeps the wine agile. Oak is restrained and structural, allowing the vineyard character to lead. The finish is long, savoury and mineral, tapering cleanly.

This is Grenache handled with restraint — elegant rather than opulent, structured rather than plush.

Excellent with roast poultry, grilled pork, charcuterie, herb-roasted vegetables or mushroom dishes. Its acidity and fine tannin make it versatile at the table.

Drink from 2025 onward or cellar 8–12 years. Expect increasing savoury depth and dried rose complexity with age.

A focused, site-driven Grenache with precision and balance — serious but not heavy.
