The 2017 Quinta do Noval Late Bottled Vintage (LBV) Port is a rich and expressive wine, showcasing the depth and complexity of a top-tier LBV. Produced from a selection of noble Douro grape varieties, including Touriga Nacional, Touriga Franca, Tinta Roriz, Tinto Cão, and Sousão, this wine delivers intense aromas of blackberry, blackcurrant, and plum, layered with hints of spice, dried orange peel, and dark chocolate. The unfiltered nature of this LBV adds to its depth, allowing for greater structure and complexity while maintaining the purity of fruit.  

On the palate, the wine is full-bodied and velvety, with ripe black fruits balanced by firm yet well-integrated tannins. Spicy undertones of clove, nutmeg, and liquorice enhance the wine’s complexity, leading to a long and harmonious finish. Aged for four to five years in wooden vats before bottling, this LBV is ready to drink now but will continue to evolve beautifully with further ageing. It pairs exceptionally well with blue cheeses, dark chocolate desserts, or simply enjoyed on its own as a rich and indulgent after-dinner wine.
